Three-rings

Hoards Station Livestock Exchange is the only sale barn in Eastern Ontario that has three rings running simultaneously. The main ring, and the hub of much of the activity at Hoards, is reserved for cattle. This ring is running from 12 noon until the auction is over – having the most livestock to go through it on auction day. The second ring features the auctioning of pigs, sheep, llamas, donkeys and similar animals and usually starts up a short time after the first ring. Ring three is held for springers (cows that are about to give birth) and the auction begins for springers shortly after the first two rings are running.
